I am Dr. Shalika Robie, a special education professional with nearly 21 years of experience. I am an instructional leader with research interests in blended and online learning, integration of technology, instructional design, equity, and inclusion for students with disabilities. I have collaborated with various organizations, committees, and districts to teach, consult, and facilitate learning. Some include being an executive board member for the Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) for the Michigan Department of Education, and Board Member for the Council of Exceptional Children, and an independent contractor for Resolute Educational Solutions.
I am a wife, mother of four, and enjoy learning new things, listening to music, and dancing is my favorite pass time!
I have been in the field of education for nearly 21 years, having studied educational technology at Central Michigan University obtaining a doctoral degree, educational leadership at Grand Valley State University (General and Special Education), and elementary education at the University of Phoenix.
My experience as an educational leader is extensive and extends across charter and traditional public schools in urban, rural, and suburban communities. I have served as a special education administrator and consultant over the last twelve years of my career. Having experience working in Michigan, Virginia, Louisiana and currently in Tennessee. Additionally, I served as a Doctoral Graduate Assistant at Central Michigan University conducting research, analyzing data and organizing graduate-level conferences.
Of note, I have presented at the annual Michigan Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) conference, Michigan Association of Administrators of Special Education (MAASE), Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (MACUL) and the annual American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) conference.
